SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RECRUITMENT - DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
This memorandum is to request an OPEN recruitment for the position of Director of Public
Works.
On May 21, 2001, the City Council approved the Management Agreement (Reorganization of
Public Works), to include establishment of a position of Director of Public Works. In doing so,
the position was established, but the specifics of the class specification defining the position
were not.
I am requesting an open recruitment process to fill this vacancy, contingent upon final approval
of the class specification and salary range by the City Council as recommended by the Personnel
Board.
