On May 21, 2001, the City Council approved the Management Agreement (Reorganization of Public Works), to include establishment of a position of Director of Public Works. In doing so, the position was established, but the specifics of the class specification defining the position were not. I am requesting an open recruitment process to fill this vacancy, contingent upon final approval of the class specification and salary range by the City Council as recommended by the Personnel Board.
