Unfortunately the rain prohibited this scheduled event and the alternate pre-planned date of June 12, 1993 will now take effect. PEDROZA JR. , SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS VIA: HENRY GARCIA, CITY ADMINISTRATOR/, DATE: JUNE 7, 1993 ��//�� SUBJECT: DISPOSAL OF HAZARDOUS WASTE FROM THE CITY YARD FACILITY The Public Works Department has received four proposals to perform environmental services at the City Yard facility. The 1992/93 fiscal budget allocated funds within the Capitol Improvement Projects to remove the remaining hazardous waste at 809 N. Angeleno Ave. The proposals received are as follows: Consolidated Waste Industries $ 7, 861.45 Chemical Waste Mgmt. Inc. 8,253 .00 National Resources, Inc. 8,850. 00 Nutech Enterprises, Inc. 12, 390. 00 It is requested that Council approve the second bid in the amount of $8,253 . 00 from Chemical Waste Mgmt. , Inc. as they are an Azusa business and they also participated in our Azusa Household Hazardous Waste Round-up. This item is budgeted in the amount of $75,000.00 in Account No. 220-400-2200-6493 Project No. 756200 in the CIP Fund. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that Council approve the disposal of hazardous waste from the City Yard and accept the proposal submitted by Chemical Waste Mgmt. , Inc. in the amount of $8,253, 00. PEDROZA JR. , SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS VIA: HENRY GARCIA, CITY ADMINISTRATOR DATE: JUNE 7, 1993 SUBJECT: HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE PROGRAM On June 5, 1993 the City of Azusa and O.S.C.O. (Chemical Waste Management, Inc. ) jointly participated in a household hazardous waste clean-up program. It had been decided that both parties would share the expenses equally however, an exact amount was not available due to the unknown participation level. The estimated cost of the program was anticipated at $18, 000.00, and you should also give attention to the fact that O.S.C.O. Facility recycles imported waste. It is requested that Council approve an expenditure not to exceed $15, 000. 00, and an invoice from O.S.C.O. will be received by the City after final lab analysis and costs have been calculated. This item is budgeted in the amount of $75, 000. 00 in Account No. 220-400-2200-6493 Project No. 756200 in the CIP Fund for hazardous waste removal. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that Council approve an expenditure not to exceed $15, 000. 00 to Chemical Waste Management, Inc. for services in hazardous waste removal.
