SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF ONE 3/4 TON SEWER UTILITY TRUCK
- ec(CO
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Division has a need to replace the 1989 One Ton Sewer Utility Truck

FINDINGS:
The City of Santa Ana acquired the same 3/4 Ton Sewer Utility Truck through the formal
bidding procedure. Nicholas Chevrolet, in Garden Grove received the award as the low bidder in
the amount of$22,927.92 (sales tax not included).
FUNDING:
The purchase is funded within the 1996-97 Capitol Improvement Program, Sewer Fund(234)
Project No. 758400, allocated for$27,000.00
CONCLUSION:
In order to take advantage of another municipality's formal bidding process and to conserve City
Clerk and Staff time of drafting specifications and advertizing, Staff is requesting Council waive
the formal bidding process and piggy-back on the City of Santa Ana's formal bidding procedure.
