Subject: Presentation of Donation to Azusa Band Shell Fund from Residential Addressing
Service
Recommendation
Councils acceptance of donation in the amount of$570.46 from the proceeds collected during the
curb number painting project by Residential Addressing Service.
Background
On November 2,1999, Council approved Residential Addressing Service(RAS)to obtain permits to
solicit door to door for donations after the painting of curb numbers city wide.
The project has reached completion and a memo including stats from the RAS are attached for your
review. We were anticipating a somewhat higher average donation rate, however the proceeds were
well received compared to the economic make-up of our City.
Regina Reinitz, owner of RAS, will present the donation of 15% as to what was collected and to give
thanks to Council for allowing her company to perform the city wide curb painting.
Fiscal Impact
Project was completed without City funds. The City also collected $530.00 in solicitation permit fees,
which go directly to the General Fund. Staff time equaled 15 hours in which to oversee the project.

Dear Mr.Pedroza:
u to work and raise finds for your City. As you know
I would like to thank you for the opportunity
we travel door to door and because we speak to practically every resident, we hear what the
residents think and feel about the City they live in.
In Azusa the residents were receptive and kind to the curb numbering service. Some could not
afford any donation, others were very generous, and still others had a bad experience with the
experience with these"bootleggers" collecting over 400 of the
illegal bootleggers. We had a bad frequently paint.

Concerning curb addressing, those few residents who had negative comments regarding"Highway
39" did not want to assist the city in any endeavor and this included curb addressing. Otherwise,
most residents knew what the Band Shell was and were happy to see that the city was doing
something to restore it.
I believe Azusa residents would be even more receptive and generous if only they were notified of
the service in advance by the City in other mediums.
All in all, RESIDENTIAL ADDRESSING SERVICE was able to raise a significant amount of
money for this fmdraiser. I have enclosed a chock for$570.46 the amount due to The Band Shell
