Councilwoman Johnson said she would like to present C. Johnson's the following statement for the record: statement re light rates "We paid approximately $6000 for this schedule, and the people of Azusa are expecting an electric rate reduction; but this new rate schedule is not, in'my opinion, giving the citizens what they expect. Until.a,rate schedule is adopted which will give the people what they now think they are getting, I will have to vote NO. S am not voting against a rate reduction. This new rate schedule is NOT, in my opinion, an over-all reduction at all. The total take to the City will be about the same as before on a yearly basis. I am alsb.concerned with what these rates can and will do to the general detriment of the City's welfare in the long run. ,I definitely want a substantial cut in electric rates, and to be honest, I must also state that our water and rubbish rates are too low and should be raised."
