HomeMy WebLinkAboutE-10 Staff Report - NOC for RPOSD GrantTO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL VIA: SERGIO GONZALEZ, CITY MANAGER CONSENT ITEM E-10 FROM: MIKI CARPENTER, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY RESOURCES (FORMERLY RECREATION AND FAMILY SERVICES) DATE: JULY 15, 2019 SUBJECT: LOS ANGELES COUNTY, REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN SPACE DISTRICT GRANT – NOTICES OF COMPLETION BACKGROUND: The Department of Recreation and Family Services was awarded funds in the amount of $301,833.27 from the Los Angeles County, Regional Park and Open Space District, with $288,203.51 of these funds dedicated to park maintenance projects in the City of Azusa. This action authorizes staff to file the Notices of Completion with the Los Angeles County Clerk. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions: 1)Approve Notices of Completion for the projects funded by the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District maintenance grant; and 2)Authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion with the Los Angeles County Clerk. ANALYSIS: The Department of Recreation and Family Services was the recipient of grant funds from the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District. These grant funds have enabled the Parks Division to replace equipment and maintain existing parks, previously funded through Proposition A. The projects completed as a result of this grant are listed below. APPROVED CITY COUNCIL 7/15/2019 Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District Grant Projects Grant Amount/Expenses Slauson Park Pool Rehabilitation (Slide refinishing; 2 pool heaters; 3 filters; replaster children's pool projects) $272,832.89 Pioneer, Memorial, Veterans & Gladstone Parks Improvements $13,300.61 Zacatecas Park Restroom Facility Renovation - Locks $2,070.01 Total Grant Funds Expended, all projects $288,203.51 FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions. These projects were funded by the grant funds listed above.
