HomeMy WebLinkAboutE- 5 Azusa Winter Family Fest City of Azusa • Recreation and Parks Department AGENDA ITEM To: Honorable Mayor and City Council / F, From: Joe Jacobs, Associate Director of Recreation and Parks a ' Via: Rick Cole, City ManagerQC/ Subject: Azusa's Winter Family Fiesta Date: October 5, 1999 BACKGROUND The City of Azusa's Recreation and Parks Department, along with Azusa Pacific University,will host the 15'annual Azusa Winter Family Fiesta,to be held on Saturday, December 4, 1999, on Azusa Ave. between Foothill Blvd. and Santa Fe St. In an effort to stimulate a good number of vendors and to encourage the true novice arts and crafts for this Winter Family Fiesta, we are seeking Council's approval to waive the $15.00 business license fee for both crafters and food vendors. RECOMMENDATION Have City Council waive the one day business license fee and authorize use of Azusa Ave. between Foothill Blvd. and Santa Fe St. for the Azusa Winter Family Fiesta. Barrios and Mr. George Romero for their contribution of talents to the construction of the Centennial Walkway pilasters. J.R. and George mounted the tile art to the pilasters. Not in attendance, but also very deserving of recognition is Mr. Art Ramirez of Ramirez Masonry of Azusa. Art donated his companies resources in labor and material to construct the Centennial Way pilasters. The Recreation and Parks Department has mounted letter of appreciation for distribution.
