AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 535 SO AS TO REZONE
CERTAIN PREMISES.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine
and declare that the following zone changes and amendments were duly
initiated, that notice of hearing thereon was duly given and published,
that public hearings thereon were duly held by the Planning Commission
and by the City Council, and that the public convenience, necessity and
general welfare and good zoning practice require that the following
zone changes and amendments be made.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 535, passed and approved on the
6th day of May, 1957, is hereby amended by the addition thereto of a
new section numbered 9207.24 reading as follows:
"SECTION 9207.24. Zone Changes. Notwithstanding the
provisions of Section 9207.00 of this ordinance and the
Zoning Map referred to therein,
(a) The following described premises are hereby placed
and included in the C-3 General Commercial Zone, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
Alosta Avenue with the center line of Ben Lomond Avenue
in the County of Los Angeles; thence along said center
line of Ben Lomond South 0° 6 ' 10" East to the inter-
section with the Easterly prolongation of a line parallel
to and 50' Southerly of the center line of Alosta Avenue
thence Westerly along aforementioned parallel line 20'
more or less to its intersection with a line parallel
to and distant Westerly 20' measured at right angles to
the center line of Ben Lomond Avenue said point also
being the true point of beginning for the purposes of
describing this C-3 Zone; thence Southerly 150' along
the last aforementioned parallel line thence Westerly
150' along a line parallel to and distant Southerly
200' measured at right angles to the center line of
Alosta Avenue thence Southerly 190' more or less along
a line parallel to and distant Westerly 170' measured
at right angles from the center line of Ben Lomond Avenue
to a point 390' distant from the center line of Alosta
Avenue and measured at right angles thereto; thence
Westerly along a line parallel to the center line of
Alosta Avenue distant therefrom 390' measured at right
angles thereto, to a point on the West line of the East
half of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter
of said section 36 thence North 0° 38' 5" East along
said West line to a point on a line parallel to the
center line of Alosta Avenue and distant 50' Southerly
therefrom measured at right angles; thence along said
last mentioned parallel line North 89° 47' 15" East to
the point of beginning.
(b) The following described premises are hereby placed
and included in the R-3 Multiple Family Residential Zone,
to-wit:

That portion of Section 36, T 1 N, R 10 W, S .B.B.&M.
beginning at the intersection of the West line of
Ben Lomond Avenue, and the South line of Alosta Avenue,
West 1308 feet with a uniform depth of 583 feet, except
the part thereof placed in the C-3 Zone by paragraph
(a) above.
SECTION 3. Section 2 of this ordinance shall be operative
and effective when and only when the areas described therein have been
annexed to the City of Azusa and when a sixty-foot wide street along
the southerly sixty feet of said area zoned R-3 from Calera Avenue to
Ben Lomond Avenue and the east half (30 feet) of Calera Avenue from
its present northerly terminus to Alosta Avenue have been dedicated
to the public and improved according to standard specifications of the
City of Azusa.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.
Passed and approved this 4th day of April , 1960.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 628 was regularly intro-
duced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 21st day of March, 1960. That, thereafter, said
ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 4th day of April , 1960, by the following vote,
to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Paul, Ortuno, Johnson, Teasley, Memmesheimer
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:Councilmen: None

I do further certify that I caused said ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage
thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa,
on the lith day of April , 1960, and that the same was published
