HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 614 < '\ -. \i., v, ORDINANCE NO. 614 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 438 RELATING TO PARKING ON ONE-WAY STREETS. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 438, passed and approved on the 4th day of June, 1951, is hereby amended by the addition thereto of a new Section 9.21 reading as follows: "SECTION 9.01. PARKING ON ONE-WAY STREETS. Except as otherwise expressly provided, parallel parking shall be per- i mitted adjacent to and within eighteen inches of the left-hand curb of one-atreetS streets. The provisions of Section 9.6 of w this ordinance shall apply to such parking. " v,V ( SECTION 2. Section 13.06 of said Ordinance No. 438 is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 13.06. STREETS DESIGNATED FOR ANGLE PARKING. In accordance with the provisions of Section 9.19 and when lines are painted on the streets or signs erected giving notice thereof, those portions of Alameda Avenue extending from Santa Fe Avenue to the north to Sixth Street on the South, both sides of the street inclusive, shall be used for angle parking. Drivers of vehicles shall park within the lanes so painted on the street or in accordance with signs erected. " SECTION 3. Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance shall not be effective with respect to any State highway until this ordinance has been submitted to and approved in writing by the Department of Public Works of the State of California and Section 2 of this ordinance shall not be effective until San Gabriel Avenue from San Gabriel Canyon Road to First Street becomes a one-way street pursuant to Section 13.01 of said Ordinance No. 438. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law. Passed and approved this 2nd day of November , 1959. That, thereafter, said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City I Council on the 2nd day of November,1959, by the following vote, to-wit : AYES: Councilmen: Paul, Ortuno, Johnson, Teasley, Memmesheimer NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT:Councilmen: None City Clerk. -1- I do further certify that I caused said ordinance to be published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa, on the 9th day of November , 1959, and that the same was published in accordance with law.
