HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 613 ORDINANCE N0. 613 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ADOPTING BY REFERENCE A "FIRE CODE" AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. That certain code entitled "Fire Code", being a published compilation of rules, regulations, and standards adopted by the County of Los Angeles by Ordinance No. 2947 as amended by Ordinance No. 7274 of said County of Los Angeles, compiled in book form with cer- tain changes to facilitate its use by other jurisdictions, three full printed copies of which, printed as a code in book form, were, by the City Clerk, ordered filed, and have been actually filed, in the office of the City Clerk, and which as so on file are hereby referred to and by this reference expressly incorporated herein and made a part hereof as fully and for all intents and purposes as though set forth herein at length, shall be, and the same hereby is, adopted and established as the Fire Code of the City of Azusa prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire. SECTION 2. Whenever in said "Fire Code" reference is made to the unincorporated territory of the County of Los Angeles, the same shall be deemed to refer to the territory of the City of Azusa, and whenever in said "Fire Code" reference is made to any department, officer, board, or commission of the County of Los Angeles, the same shall be deemed to refer to the correspondent department, officer, board, or commission of the City of Azusa. SECTION 3. No person, firm, or corporation shall violate or fail to comply with any of the provisions of this ordinance or of the "Fire Code" adopted by reference herein. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or of the code adopted hereby shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not.more than $500 or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of _Azusa or in the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles for not more than six months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm, or cor- poration shall be deemed guilty of a separate afense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any sixth violation is com- mitted, continued, or permitted. SECTION 4. Ordinance No. 474 adopted August 2, 1954, and Ordinance No. 537 adopted May 14, 1957, hereby are repealed. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by 1 . Approved and passed this ,5th day of October , 1959.
