AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGRLRS COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 34,
REVISED TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of March, 1959, the City Council
of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 3871 giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the
City of Azusa, said territory being therein designated as Southerly
Annexation District No. 34,Revised, and said Resolution describing
the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 3871 did contain a notice of
the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would
hear protests made by any person owning real property within the
territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not
less than forty nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of
said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 4th day of May, 1959, at the hour of 8:00
o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of
Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, said time and place
being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 3871 for
hearing of protests to said annexation, the said City Council did hear
and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did
determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half
of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the
last equalized assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of
one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as
determined by said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Azusa does
hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that the said
territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Azusa is hereby approved, is all that territory situate in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly
boundary of the City of Azusa, as same existed
on February 10, 1959 and the northerly pro-
longation of the easterly line of Lark Ellen
Avenue, 40 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract
No. 14577, as recorded in Book 308, pages 35
and 36 of Maps of Los Angeles County; thence
southerly along said prolongation and easterly
line of Lark Ellen Avenue 40 feet wide, to the
southerly boundary of said Tract No. 14577;
thence southerly along the easterly line of the
property described in Book 36759, page 325 of
Official Records of Los Angeles County, southerly
along the easterly line of the property described
as Parcel A in Book D 119, page 204 of said
Official Records and continuing southerly along
the easterly line of the property described as
Parcel A in Book D 119, page 201 of said Official
Records to the southeasterly corner of said last
mentioned property; thence southerly along the
easterly line of Lark Ellen Avenue 80 feet wide,
as shown on map of Tract No. 19381, as recorded
in Book 505, pages 47 to 50 of said Maps, 750
feet; thence westerly, at right angles to said
last mentioned easterly line of Lark Ellen Avenue,
to the westerly line of said last mentioned Lark
Ellen Avenue; thence southerly, southwesterly and
westerly along the boundary of Lot 210 of said
Tract No. 19381, to the southwesterly corner of
said Lot 210; thence northerly along the various
courses and curves of the westerly lines of Lots
210 and 211 of said Tract No. 19381, to the north-
westerly corner of said Lot 211; thence easterly
along the northerly boundary of said Tract No.
19381 a distance of 42.80 feet to the westerly
line of said Parcel A described in Book D 119,
page 201 of Official Records; thence northerly
along said westerly line of said last mentioned
Parcel A and continuing northerly along the
westerly lines of said property described as
Parcel A in Book D 119, page 204 of Official
Records and said property described in Book 36759,
page 325 of Official Records, to the northwesterly
corner of said last mentioned property; thence
northerly along the westerly line of said Lark
Ellen Avenue 40 feet wide, as shown on said map
of Tract No. 14577, to the southeasterly corner
of Tract No. 19634, as shown on map recorded in
Book 540, pages 31 and 32 of said Maps; thence
northerly along the easterly boundary of said
last mentioned tract to a line that is perpen-
dicular to said easterly boundary and that passes
through the southerly terminus of the straight
line portion of the easterly line of Lot 36 of
said Tract 19634; thence westerly along said per-
pendicular line to the westerly line of Lark Ellen
Avenue 80 feet wide, as shown on said map of Tract
No. 19634; thence northerly along said last men-
tioned westerly line of Lark Ellen Avenue 215.69
feet to the northeasterly corner of Lot 35 of
said Tract No. 19634; thence easterly along the
easterly prolongation of the northerly line of
Orkney Street as shown on said map of Tract No.
19634, 40.01 feet to the westerly line of Lark
Ellen Avenue 40 feet wide, as shown on said map
of Tract No. 14577; thence northerly along said
last mentioned westerly line of Lark Ellen Avenue
and the northerly prolongation thereof 280.00 feet
to said southerly boundary of the City of Azusa;
thence easterly along said boundary 40.00 feet
to the point of beginning.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 607 was regularly introduced
and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 4th day of May , 1959. That, thereafter, said
ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 18th day of May , 1959, by the following vote,
to-wit:
