ORDINANCE NO. 602
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 535 SO AS TO REZONE
CERTAIN PREMISES.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as
follows :
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine
and declare that the following zone changes and amendments were duly
initiated, that notice of hearing thereon was duly given and published,
that public hearings thereon were duly held _by the Planning Commission
and by the City Council, and that the public convenience, necessity,
and general welfare and good zoning practice require that the following
zone changes and amendments be made.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 535, passed and approved on the
6th day of May, 1957, is hereby amended by the addition thereto of a
new section numbered 9207.18 reading as follows:
"SECTION 9207.18. Zone Changes. Notwithstanding the
provisions of Section 9207.00 of this ordinance and the Zoning
Map referred to therein,
(a) the following described premises are hereby placed
and included in the C-3 General Commercial Zone, effective upon
annexation thereof to the City of Azusa, to-wit :
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly boundary line of
the City of Azusa, as same existed on February 18, 1959,
with the northerly line of the southerly 20 feet of the south-
east quarter of Section 2, Township 1 South, Range 10 West,
S.B.B.&M., said intersection also being a point in the center
line of Arrow Highway 100 feet wide; thence easterly along
said northerly line 665 feet; thence northerly at right angles
to said northerly line to the northerly line of the southerly
70 feet of said southeast quarter of Section 2; thence easterly
along said last mentioned northerly line to the most westerly
line of the parcel of land described in deed to El Rancho
Markets, Inc. , recorded in G 46277, p 57 of O.R., in the office
of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence northerly
along said most westerly line and the prolongation thereof 340
feet; thence westerly parallel with said center line of Arrow
Highway to said easterly boundary of the City of Azusa; thence
southerly along said easterly boundary of the City of Azusa
390 feet more or less to the point of beginning.
(b) the following described premises are hereby placed
and included in the R-3 Multiple Family Residential Zone,
effective upon annexation thereof to the City of Azusa, to-wit :
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of the
southerly 70 feet of the southeast quarter of Section 2, Town-
ship 1 South, Range 10 West, S.B.B.&M., with the most westerly
line of the parcel of land described in deed to El Rancho
Markets, Inc., recorded in G 46277, p 57 of O.R., in the office
of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence northerly
along said most westerly line and the prolongation thereof to
the southerly line of the parcel of land (for Big Dalton Wash
Spreading Grounds) described as Parcel 106 in Final Order of
Condemnation in Case No. 602859 of the Superior Court of the
State of California in and for said county, a certified copy
of which is recorded in B 43368, p 162 of said O.R.; thence

easterly along said southerly line to the boundary of said
parcel of land described in deed to El Rancho Markets, Inc.;
thence along the boundary of said last mentioned parcel of
land as follows: North 0° 22' 29" East 62 feet to a true
point of beginning, thence North 89° 45' 25" East 240 feet,
North 0° 22' 29" East 38 feet and North 89° 45' 25" East to
a line that is parallel with and ko feet westerly, measured
at right angles, from the easterly line of said southeast
quarter of Section 2; thence northerly along said parallel
line to the northwesterly line of the parcel of land (for
Big Dalton Wash) described as Parcel 109 in Final Judgment in
said Superior Court Case No. 602859, a certified copy of
which is recorded in Book 41995, page 323 of said O.R.; thence
southwesterly along said northwesterly line; thence southerly
parallel with said easterly line of said southwest quarter to
the true point of beginning.
(c) the remainder of Southerly Annexation District No.
32, except that portion included in public streets, is placed
and included in the W Water Conservation Zone effective upon
annexation thereof to the City of Azusa."
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.

I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do
hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 602 was regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 6th day of April , 1959. That,
thereafter, said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 20th day of April , 1959, by
the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Paul, Ortuno, Teasley, Memmesheimer
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT:Councilmen: Johnson

I do further certify that I caused said Ordinance to be
published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof
in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa, on the 27th
day of April , 1959, and that the same was published in accordance
with law.
