HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance NO. 586 i. ORDINANCE NO. 586 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 535 RELATING TO THE GRANTING OF VARIANCES. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find and determine that the following amendment of the zoning ordinance was duly initiated, that notice of hearing thereon was duly given and published, that public hearings thereon were duly held by the Planning Commission and by the City Council, and that the public convenience, necessity and general welfare and good zoning practice require that the follow- ing amendment be made. SECTION 2. Section 9231.13 of Ordinance No. 535, passed and approved on the 6th day of May, 1957, is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 9231.13. VARIANCES. When practical difficulties, unnecessary hardships, or results inconsistant with the general purposes of this Ordinance would result from its strict interpretation and enforcement, the Planning Commission may, upon making the findings required by Subsection (a) of Section 9231.26 of this Ordinance, grant on such terms and conditions as it deems necessary, such variances from the provisions of this ordinance, as may be in harmony with its general purpose and intent, so that the spirit of this ordinance shall be observed, public safety and welfare secured, and substantial justice done." SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published as required by law.
