3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
4 CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALI-
FORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CER-
TAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
5 SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 26 TO
THE CITY OF AZUSA.

7 The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as
8 follows:
9 WHEREAS, on the 15th day of July, 1957, the Council
of the City of Azusa did pass and adopt Resolution No. 3628
10 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited
terriory to the City of Azusa, said territory being therein
11 designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 20 said
Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed
12 to be annexed; and
13 WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 3628 did contain a notice
of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the
14 City would hear protests made by any person owning a real
property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the
15 time of said hearing being not less than forty nor more than
sixty days from the date of passage of said Resolution: and
16 WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of September, 1957, at the hour
17 of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall
of the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
18 said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said
Resolution No. 3628 for hearing protests to said annexation,
19 the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made
to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests had
20 not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the
territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized
21 assessment roll, nor by public and private owners of one-half
of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as deter-
22 mined by said legislative body; and
23 WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
24 NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Azusa does
25 hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed to the City of Azusa, and does hereby further ordain that
26 the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Azusa.
27 That said territory, the annexation of which to the City
of Azusa is herein approved, is all that territory situate in the
28 County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:

Beginning at the intersection of the westerly
prolongation of the northerly line of Newburgh Street
1 50 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 23093,
recorded in Book 615, Pages 88 to 90 inclusive of
2 Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of
Los Angeles, with the west line of the southwest
3 quarter of Section 3, Township 1 South Range 10 West,
S.B.B. & M. ; thence northerly along said west line
4 and the northerly prolongation thereof to the boundary
of the City of Azusa as same existed on June 26, 1957;
5 thence easterly along said boundary to a line that is
parallel with and 40 feet easterly measured at right a
6 angles from said west line; thence southerly along
7 said parallel line to the northwesterly corner of said
ttoact; thence easterly, south-easterly and southerly
8 along the boundary of said tract, to the southeasterly
corner of Lot 11 of said tract; thence southerly along
9 the southerly prolongation of the easterly line of said
lot to said northerly line of Newburgh Street; thence
10 westerly in a direct line to the point of beginning.
11 The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as
12 required by law.

Passed and approved this 16th day of September, 1957.

19 I, JAMES MILLER, City Clerk of the City of Azusa, do
20 hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 554 was regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting
21 of the City Council on the 16th of September, 1957. That, there-
after, said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular
22 meeting of the City Council on the 7th day of October 1957,
bythe following vote, to-wit:
23 AYES: Councilmen: Fawcett, Ortuno, Romero, Memmesheirer
NOES: Councilmen: Johnson
24 ABSENT: Councilmen: None

I do further certify that I caused said Ordinance to be
28 published prior to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage
thereof in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general
29 circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Azusa,
on the lh day of October 1957, and that the same was
30 published in accordance with law.
