HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 525 ORDINANCE NO. 525 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA RELATING TO HOURS OF PARKING ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF FOOTHILL BOULEVARD AND AZUSA AVENUE BETWEEN DECEMBER 4 AND DECEMBER 24, 1956. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Ordinance No. 438, as amended, three hours parking shall be permitted on Foothill Boulevard between San Gabriel and Alameda Avenues and on Azusa Avenue between Santa Fe and Sixth Streets between the hours of 7:00 o' clock A.M. and 6:00 o' clock P.M. on every day except Sunday; and no person shall park any vehicle for a longer time than three hours on said portion of Foothill Boulevard or on said portion of Azusa Avenue between the hours of 7 :00 o' clock A.M. and 6:00 o'clock P.M. of any day except Sunday. SECTION 2. This ordinance and all of the provisions hereof shall be effective only from December 4, 1956 to December 24, 1956, both inclusive. SECTION 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be neces- sary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall take effect immediately upon its passage. The facts constituting its urgency are that the present one-hour restriction on parking in the area above described is inadequate during the season of Christmas shopping and causes great confusion and a traffic problem, the alleviation of which is urgently required. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law. Passed and approved this 3rd day of December , 1956.
