AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA RELATING TO HOURS OF PARKING ON CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF FOOTHILL BOULEVARD AND AZUSA AVENUE
BETWEEN DECEMBER 4 AND DECEMBER 24, 1956.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as
follows :
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Ordinance
No. 438, as amended, three hours parking shall be permitted on
Foothill Boulevard between San Gabriel and Alameda Avenues and on
Azusa Avenue between Santa Fe and Sixth Streets between the hours
of 7:00 o' clock A.M. and 6:00 o' clock P.M. on every day except
Sunday; and no person shall park any vehicle for a longer time
than three hours on said portion of Foothill Boulevard or on said
portion of Azusa Avenue between the hours of 7 :00 o' clock A.M. and
6:00 o'clock P.M. of any day except Sunday.
SECTION 2. This ordinance and all of the provisions
hereof shall be effective only from December 4, 1956 to December 24,
1956, both inclusive.
SECTION 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be neces-
sary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and
safety and shall take effect immediately upon its passage. The facts
constituting its urgency are that the present one-hour restriction on
parking in the area above described is inadequate during the season
of Christmas shopping and causes great confusion and a traffic problem,
the alleviation of which is urgently required.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.
Passed and approved this 3rd day of December , 1956.
