HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 524 ORDINANCE NO. 524 ZONING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL/OF THE CITY OF AZUSA BEING A TEMPORARY INTERIM ORDINANCE AFFECTING NORTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 15. The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows : SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine and declare that new territory is in the process of being annexed to the City of Azusa by virtue of Ordinance No. 522, passed and approved the 15th day of October, 1956, consisting of the territory therein described as Northerly Annexation District No. 15 and shown upon that certain map which is attached hereto and by this reference hereby made a part of this ordinance. SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby further find, determine and declare that the Planning Commission has initiated pro- ceedings and has set a hearing thereon for the 5th day of December, 1956, to zone the said territory in the manner shown upon the map which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and that it is neces- sary, in order to prevent unreasonable restrictions upon said land and in order to prohibit unwanted and undesirable uses, to provide that said proposed zoning shall be effective immediately. SECTION 3. Pursuant to the authority of Section 65806 of the Government Code, the said territory embraced within said Northerly Annexation District No. 15 is hereby placed in the respective zones designated upon the map attached hereto and made a part of this ordi- nance, effective as of the effective date of said annexation and to continue until altered or changed in the manner provided by law, and all uses in conflict with the said zoning of the said respective areas constituting said Northerly Annexation District No. 15 are hereby pro- hibited. SECTION 4+. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misde- meanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail or in the County Jail of the County of Los Angeles for a period of not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 5. This ordinance is hereby declared to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety and shall take effect immediately upon its passage. The facts consti- tuting its urgency are recited in Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall publish the same as required by law.
