HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 446 -7077 QV 1 ORDINANCE NO. 14.6 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF 3 CALIFORNIA, OF INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF EIGHTH STREET,IN SAID CITY OF AZUSA, AND 4 SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING ALL PARTIES INTERESTED IN OR OBJECTING TO THE 5 PROPOSED VACATION. 6 7 The City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby ordain 8 as follows: 9 Section 1. Notice is hereby given that the City Council 10 of the City of Azusa intends to vacate all of that portion 11 of Eighth Street, 60 feet wide, in Map of pusa, as shown on a 12 map recorded in Book 15, pages 93 to 95 inclusive, of Mis- 13 cellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, lying 14 between the Westerly line of Angeleno Avenue, 80 feet wide, 15 as shown on said map, and the Easterly line of it*Avenue 16 80 feet wide, as shown on said map, reference to the maps on 17 file in the office of the City Clerk being hereby made for 18 particulars. 19 Section 2. The City Council does hereby fix the hour of 20 7:30 o'clock P. M. on April 7th, 1952, at the Council Chambers, 21 in the City Hall, City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of 22 California, as the time for hearing all persons interested in 23 or objecting to the proposed vacation. 24 Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy 25 of this ordinance to be published in the Azusa Herald and 26 Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published 27 in the City of Azusa, not less than fifteen days prior to April 28 7th, 1952, and to cause Notices of Vacation to be posted 29 conspicuously along the line of the street proposed to be vacated, 30 said notices to be placed not more than 300 feet apart and not 31 less than three notices shall be posed. Said notices shall state 32 the passage of this ordinance and the time and place of hearing -1- 1 above set forth, said notices to be posted pursuant to the 2 provisions of Section $322 of the Street and Highway Code of 3 the State of California, and shall contain the information 4; required therein. 5 Section, : The City of Azusa does hereby reserve and 6 exempt from vacation the permanent easements and the right from time to time to construct maintain operate, replace and/or 8 remove pipe lines, cables, wires, poles and other equipment 9 and facilities for the operation of telephone and electric 10 lines and for the transportation of electric energy, water, 11 and other utilities. 12 Section 5. The City Council hereby determines that the 13 public convenience and necessity requires the reservation of 14 the easements and rights of way for the parposes enumerated 1.5 herein, and any and all proceedings taken pursuant to this 16 ordinance are taken subject to such reservations and exceptions. 17 Section 6, That the street herein referred to is being 18 vacated and proceedings hereunder are pursuant to the previsions 19 of`Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 2, of the Street and Highway 2Q , Code of the State of California 21 Section 7o The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the 22 City Clerk shall attest the same and certify as to the Passage 2 ' and adoption hereof, 2 Karl f. nes, 26 Mayor of the City of Azusa, ATTEST 28 2 Eneef. 2 City Clerk of the City of Azusa. 30 31 32 3TA* G.
