HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Packet - August 16, 1982 - CC CITY OF AZUSA Azusa, California G TO: City Council FROM: Community Development/Planning Director SUBJECT: Foothill Drive-In Theater DATE: August 12, 1982 On November 23, 1960, the Azusa Planning Commission, by Resolution No. 165, granted a Conditional Use Permit Case No. C-21, to permit the construction and operation of an open air theater. Subsequent to that action, and after the theater had been constructed and in operation for a number of years, the owner commenced the holding of swap-meets on a weekly basis in the theater. The original use permit was for the operation of an open air theater only and did not include the operation of a swap-meet. Section 19.60.150 of the Municipal Ordinance (Zoning Code) provides : "The Planning Commission . . . upon the direction of the City Council shall hold a hearing upon the question of the revocation of a Conditional Use Permit . . . " Given that the Foothill Drive-In is being used for a use not originally provided for under C-21, it is recommended as follows: RECOMMENDATION: Direct the Planning Commission to hold a public hearing on th- revocation of Conditional Use Permit Case No. C-21.
