In surveying the City of Glendora questionnaire for standard fees, answered by 24 cities, we have decided to recommend that a total of $58.00 per machine be charged to a maximum amount not to exceed S500.00, regardless of location. Twenty-four questionnaires were returned out of twenty-nine sent out. The results were obtained by adding up each fee and dividing by the total numbers, therefore, the figures are an average. BILLBOARDS Fee is $108.00 if charging per board Base fee of $128.12 per business and $8.45 per sign. REST & RETIREMENT HOMES (Includes Convalescent Homes & Santariums.) Base fee per year is $43.21 14 cities have extra charge for bed, room or employees. Average fee is $5.29 3 cities charge extra by gross receipts. Average is .46¢ per $1000. HOTELS & MOTELS Three cities charge per unit only. Average rate = $6.08 per unit. Two cities charge on gross receipts only. a. $41.75 for first $10.000 b. 8% of quarterly receipts. Most cities charge a base fee up to an average of four units, beds, or rooms. The average rate is $31.60 base and $4.99 per each additional . FUNERAL HOMES & MORTUARY Aprox. 1/3 the cities charge a flat fee. Average is #58.85 for funeral home Aprox. 1/3 the cities charge a flat fee + number of employees. Average is 40.92 fee plus 6.10 for employee. Aprox. 1/3 of the cities base on gross receipts. Average fee is $37.45 for the first $19,166. GARBAGE & REFUSE PICKUP 7 cities charge by vehicle = 68.57 average per vehicle 5 cities charge flat fee for license = 79.65 per year 2 cities charge fee + additional for extra vehicles or employees. Average fee is 57.25 + 26.87 for additional . 7 cities either contract out or left questionnaire blank. APARTMENT HOUSES, MOBILE HOMES & TRAILER PARKS. The majority of cities charge a fee for an average of 4 units and additional fees for units after that. The additional fee is 4.03 per unit. 6 cities charge per unit only. Average is 12.95 per unit. 3 cities charge by gross receipts only. Gross receipts to an average of 43.000 pay an average of 37.25. BANKRUPTCY AND/OR CLOSING OUT SALE ALL FOR BUSINESS THAT HAVE BEEN IN OPERATION FOR MORE THAN ONE YEAR. 8 cities charge by the month. Average is 49.00 4 cities charge by dad and/or limit time of sale. Average is 60.62 per day. 6 cities charge per sale. Average is 55.83 6 cities = no response. VENDING MACHINES 6 cities = 1366 per machine per year 2 cities on gross receipts = 2.87% of all gross receipts Balance based on gross receipts per tables for each city. DELIVERY VEHICLES Average fee for delivery vehicle -- all types = 42.08 per vehicle. Some cities have different fees for different types of vehicles. RETAILERS 15 cities charge a base fee + a fee for employees. Average is 47.33 per base + 5.92 per each employee. Balance of cities charge a base fee + an additional fee for gross receipts. 34.71 base up to 22,500 average and then .48 per each 1000.00 CONTRACTORS Majority of cities sell a flat fee license for general contractors and another fee for sub contractors. Average fee is 80.92 for genral and 59.14 for subs. 2 cities charge base fee + number of employees. 72.25 base + 6.37 per employee. 1 city charges with a fee schedule for volume of work. 5 cities base on gross receipts with a base fee. 57.15 is base fee up to 25,000 and then additional fees. MEDICAL DENTAL , RELATED HEALTH SERVICES. Majority of cities charge a flat fee of 50.06 + 5.50 per employee. 1 city = gross receipts scale for volumn 7 cities = gross receipts to 16,428 pay average of 41 .53 then add fees per 1000 dollars or per seperate scale. APPRAISERS, BOOKEEPERS CONSULTANTS & ACCOUNTANTS 17 cities charge base fee of 47.35 and those who add fees for employees it is 6.61 . 7 cities charging gross receipts charge 41 .53 base fee up to 16,000 then the additional charge. HOUSEMOVING Basically just contractors fees. DANCE & CAFE ENTERTAINMENT average of 130.00 per year.
