ANALYSIS:
The field services team is in need of well-equipped safely functioning trucks to serve as a
means of transportation to provide assistance to our customer base and maintain our electric and
water meter inventory. The current trucks are twenty years old with over 130,000 miles on each
and are in frequent need of repair. Presently, several of the field services trucks are at the end
of their useful lives, and are non-operational and/or unsafe to operate.
Staff has obtained a quote through the National Auto Fleet Group for the replacement trucks.
The quote includes a California Truck Equipment Company (CTEC) price for installation of a
service body.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact of this purchase is $98,696.82. This purchase was included in the Fiscal
Year 2019-2020 budget, and there are sufficient funds available under Account No. 31-40-
702-935-7135.
