CITY HALL AZUSA, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 1961
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned session
at the above time and place.
Mayor Ortuno called the meeting to order.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Paul, McLees, Johnson,
Teasley, Ortuno
Also Present: Administrative Officer Caswell, City
Clerk Miller, Supt. of Light and
Water Smith
Councilman Teasley offered for its second reading the following
Ordinance relative to Annexation No. 40:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS
ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT
N0. 4o TO THE CITY OF AZUSA.
Moved by Councilman Teasley, seconded by Councilman Paul and
unanimously carried that further reading be waived.
Moved by Councilman Teasley, seconded by Councilman Paul that
the Ordinance be adopted. Ordinance passed and adopted by the
following vote of Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Paul, McLees, Johnson, Teasley, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None and numbered Ord. No. 661.
Councilman Paul offered for its second reading the following
Ordinance relative to parking:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING
SECTION 3200.41 OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE
REGULATION OF PARKING.
Moved by Councilman Paul, seconded by Councilman Teasley and
unanimously carried that further reading be waived.
Moved YF Councilman Paul, seconded by Councilman Teasley that
the Ordinance be adopted. Ordinance passed and adopted by the
following vote of Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Paul, McLees, Johnson, Teasley, Ortuno
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None and numbered Ord. No. 662.
Mayor Ortuno introduced for its first reading the following
Ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING
THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE TO CHANGE THE TITLE OF ADMINISTRATIVE
OFFICER TO CITY ADMINISTRATOR.
Moved by Councilman Ortuno, seconded by Councilman Teasley that
further reading be waived. With Councilman Johnson voting No,
this Ordinance was read in full.

TABLISHING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID OFFICE.

Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman XcLees
that further reading be waived. With Councilman Paul voting
No, this Ordinance was read in full.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman XcLees
that the Ordinance be adopted. Ordinance failed to be adopted
by the following vote of Council:

ABSENT: Councilmen: None
The Administrative Officer stated that he had received a City to
communication from the League of California Cities relative to oppose
Assembly Bill 77, which would impose a tax on cities owning AB 77
tax-exempt property used in distributing gas or electricity.
Moved by Councilman Paul, seconded by Councilman Teasley and
unanimously carried that the Administrator be authorized to
register opposition to Assembly Bill 77.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman KoLees
and unanimously carried that the meeting adjourn.
