The City Council of the City of Azusa met in Special Session at
the above time and place.
Mayor Ortuno called the meeting to order at 7:06 P.M.

The consideration of the problem of site acquisition for
water storage tank north of Sierra Madre Avenue. Considera-
tion has been given in the past to locating the storage
tank on property owned by Mr. Henry Van Dinkel.

The Council was informed that a Notice of Special Meeting -had been
sent to Mr. Van Ginkel, the owner of the property upon which it is
desirable to erect a Steel Water Storage Tank and the necessary
easement for transmission lines, However, Mr. Van Dinkel had
notified the City Administrator that he would be unable to attend
the Special Meeting.
City,Attorney Williams Mated that it would be necessary to es-
tablish the value of any property desired to be acquired tyt the
City.
The City Ongineer reported that the cost of work Mr. Van Ginkel,
would like I;o have done on the property owned by him in the ex-
change of the property is estimated at approximately $25,000.

"By order of the Mayor, there will'be a SPECIAL MEETING"OF
THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY'COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, to
be held in the Council Chambers at 7:00 o'clock P.M., on
Monday, the 11th day of September, 1961s for the purpose

Councilman Paul raised the question of placing the tank on lands
owned by C do M Homes.
It was moved by Councilman Paul and seconded by Councilman Teasley
that the City Administrator be authorized to contact Mr. Warren
Hamilton, or some other qualified appraiser;*for,:purpoae';:of.malsing 1
an appraisal of the proposed site and necessary easement.. Motion l
unanimously carried.
It was also suggested by Council, but no official action taken,
that the City Engineer and Mr. Dixon investigate the possibility
of finding some other desirable'location for the tank. ,
It was moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Teasley Adjourn
and unanimously carried that this meeting adjourn in memory.of Mr.
Leo Carrillo who had recently passed away.
