Pedroza Jr., Superintendent of Public Works VIA: Rick Cole, City Manager �a DATE: November 2,1998 SUBJECT: Approve to Renew Adopt-a-Wall(Graffiti Removal)with Caltrans Recommendation Approve the continuation of Graffiti removal by the Public Works Division within the Caltrans Right-of-way until December 31, 2000 by a minute order. Background On November 1,1993, Council approved Resolution No. 93-C 128 for the City to participate in Caltrans Adopt-a-Wall program This program enables the City to remove graffiti within Caltrans right-of-way within our city limits at a moments notice without having to call and wait for Caltrans to response. The recycled paint used by City, is furnish by Caltrans at no cost. The City is currently removing Graffiti on 4.5 miles of walls, on both east and west direction of the 210 Freeway. The Council should be aware that Caltrans will be held harmless through these permits. Fiscal Impact Staff time to perform Graffiti removal on Caltrans walls equals approximately five hours per month. ad)0,(1 /MI i C�i� g
