Mayor Ortuno called the meeting to order and led in the salute Call to to the flag. Order Invocation was given by Rev. Gerald Meyers, Azusa Evangelical Invocation Methodist Church. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Paul, McLees, Johnson, Roll Teasley,_Ortuno Call Also Present: City Attorney Williams, City Administra- tor Caswell, Superintendent of Light & Water Smith, Deputy City Clerk Torrey 'City Attorney prepare a resolution to amend Rule XII, Para- sick leave graph 5, of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations, whereby for all all regular full-time classified employees who are disabled full-time, by injury or illness while on duty shall become entitled to classified .leave of absence without loss of salary while so disabled, employees for the period of not exceeding one year, said leave not to injoon duty be charged against his regular or accumulated sickness. The City Attorney suggested that the Personnel Board recom- mend adoption of a further resolution that any sick leave used in the past, and arising out of service -connected in- juries, shall be restored. After a discussion, it was Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Paul and unanimously carried that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the necessary resolution amending the Civil Service Rules and Regulations relative to sick leave for all full- time classified employees. The monthly reports of the Personnel Board for January and Pers,Bdo February were submitted to Council. Reports 'Moved by Councilman Paul, seconded by Councilman McLees and unanimously carried that the reports be filed. The recommendation of the Planning Commission (Resolutions Reso241 & No, 241 and No. 242) for change of street names from Vernon 242 re: Avenue to Lark Ellen Avenue, and from Cerritos Avenue to change of Hollenbeck Avenue, tabled from the March 5th meeting, was street again presented to Council. names With no corrections, the Minutes of the meeting of March 19th, App.Mino Ut 1962, were approved as submitted. 3/19/62 M t` A communication was received from Mr, Charles Bo Farmer, Resigoof tendering his resignation as a member of the Personnel Board C.Farmer X (appointed by Council), effective May 1, 1962, due to the from fact that he is establishing residence outside of the City Personnel of Azusa in the very near future. Board Moved by Councilman Paul, seconded by Councilman McLees and unanimously carried that the request be granted, effective May 1, 1962, and that Mr. Farmer be presented with a Certifi- cate of Appreciation for his services to the City. After a discussion of the additional information from the Planning Commission, including the recommendation from Superintendent of Public Works Brusnahan, Police Chief ' Kendrick and Fire Chief Madison., it was Moved by Councilman Teasley, seconded by Councilman McLees and unanimously carried that this matter again be tabled, Notice was given that the Planning Commission, by Resolution Reso243 - Noo 243, disapproved a Precise Plan of Design for a con- disapp,Preco tractor's yard, for property at 465 Eo Arrow Highway, owned Plan of Des. by William Kirkland. The City Administrator submitted a request for transfer of funds in the amount of $687, from the Police Department Con- tractual Services Account to the Police Department Capital ' Outlay Account, under the provisions of Resolution No. 4198 adopting the 1961-62 budget. This transfer will allow for replacement of a ten -year-old Police radio.
