CITY HALL AZUSA, CALIFORNIA WEDNESDAY, JUNE 49 1962 7:00 PM,
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned session for
budget study at the abovd time and place,
Mayor Ortuno called the meeting to order, Call to
Order
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Memmesheimer, Cooney Roll
Jackson, McLees, Ortuno Call
Also Present: City Administrator Caswell, Superintendent
of Light 6 Water Smith, Superintendent of
Public Works Brusnahan, Deputy City Clerk
Torrey
The Personnel Department Budgetwas scheduled for this meeting, Budget
and Mrs. Joan Parks, Personnel Clerk, appeared before Council Session
to answer questions in regard to the appropriation requests,
Personnel Board member S. A. Paul appeared before Council to Personnel
speak in favor of transfer of the Personnel office to the old Department
Fire Station, Jackson and Memmesheimer said that all requests Budget
for the use of the old Fire Dept..building be deferred until
after budget meetings, and discussed at a later date,
The Recreation Department budget request was next presented, with Recreation
Director John Dangleis presenting the department budget requests Dept,
to Council, Budget
Upon discussion
of the Park Department request, Account #5611,

AYES: Councilmen- Memmesheimer, Cooney, Jackson
NOES° Councilmen: McLees, Ortuno
ABSENT:Councilmen: None
The Street section of the Public Works Department budget, James
Brusnahan, Superintendent, was next presented followed by con- Public
sideration of the trash and garbage pick-up agreement, Health Works
Agreements; i.e., the Visiting Nurse Assn., County Health Agmt „ Budget
and the County Ambulance Agmt, were also sumbitted for consid-
eration by Council.
It was recommended by the Committee appointed to study the hiring
of a City Engineer, that Robert Lawrence, #1 on the eligibility
list be appointed as City Engineer, Memmesheimer and McLees
and unanimously carried that the recommendation be accepted and-
tha-t-the-r_ecommendation__be_accepted and that Mr, Lawrence be
notified of his acceptance, with the request that he start work
with the City July 1, 1962,
A communication from the Data Computing Center was read to
members of the Council, which referred to an earlier proposal
from the organization, Due to the fact that the proposal had
apparently not been formally presented it was motioned by McLees
and Cooney and unanimously carried that the City Administrator
contact the Data Computing Center and ask them to resubmit their
proposal.
Moved by Councilman Jackson, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer
and unanimously carried that the meeting be adjourned to Friday Adjourn
June 159 1962 at 7000 P.Me � ----��
