The ;,ouncil reconvened In the Library .'-.dltorium at 7x10 P.M, Present at Roll Call., Councilmen- Memmesheimer, Cooney, Jackson, Ortuno Absent, Councilman., McLees The Library budget request; was scheduled for review at this Libo bgto me et Ing, However, due to the absence of Mr. V. Gilbert Ross, tabled and the fact that Mr. Edward Snyder, who represented Mr. Ross, did not have a breakdown or, the Library requests, it was de- cided to hold the Library budget study until a later date. 7,20 P.M. - Councilman McLees entered the meeting. The budget requests of the Engineering Department were sub- mitted for the consideration of Council. Discussion was held as to the possible uses of the old Fire Station building, Superintendent of Light & Water Smith stated that he would prefer a new building rather than having the Fire Station remodeled for their use, however, they did urgently need additional space somewhere for the Light and Water offices. Discussion was also held as to the need for warehouse buildings for the Light and Water Department. Moved by Councilman Jackson, seconded by Councilman Mem- meshei.mer and unanimously carried that $�;�,000000 be left in the Light and Water budget and that $20;,000.00 of this be de- signated for warehouse buildings Moved by Councilman Jackson, seconded by Councilman Memmes- heimer and unanimously carried that the Fire Department Build- ing remain "as is" until ftii�°ther action by the Council, After discussion as to the possible acqu.icition of additional property by the City, it was Moved by Councilman McLees, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer and unanimousiy carried that an attempt be made to purchase the Rips property on Alameda Avenue at a reasonable price, and that the possibility of property purchases as recommended by the Planning Commission be investigated. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned session for budget study at the above time and place. Call to Mayor Ortuno called the meeting to order-.
