CITY HALL AZUSA, CALIFORNIA WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12, 1963 7:00 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in Special Session
at the above time and place.
Mayor Ortuno called the meeting to order. Call to Ord

Mayor Ortuno presented the Notice of Special Meeting which was Notice of
called for the purpose of discussing the proposed annexation Special
by the City of Glendora of property occupied by Citrus College Meeting
and other lands contiguous thereto.
The City Administrator read in full two memorandums submitted C.A. memos
to members of the Council reporting on a meeting which he and
Mr. Barry Eaton, City Planner, attended along with the President
of Citrus College and representatives of the City of Glendora.
After reading of the memorandums, Mayor Ortuno polled members
of the Council relative to their feelings in regard to the
proposed annexation by the City of Glendora. After further
discussion on this matter, it was
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman
McLees and unanimously carried that a letter be sent to the
'Board of Trustees of Citrus College advising them that this
City is opposed to the College being annexed by the City of
Glendora, outlining there -in the various reasons influencing
this action, such as the cooperative spirit that has always
existed between this City and Citrus College, the assistance
and support given by the citizens of Azusa on bond issues,
which has naturally aided their expanse and growth, and re-
questing that the Board of Trustees take action to protest
the .proposed annexation as contemplated by the City of
Glendora. Further, that a eppy of letter be sent to the
City of Glendora.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman McLees
that the City of Glendora be advised that the Azusa City
Council is not opposed to an amended proposed annexation
which would include that property north of Foothill Boulevard
from Ben Lomond to Citrus Avenue, east of Citrus from Foot-
hill to Sierra Madre, easterly along Sierra Madre to Grand
Avenue, thence following the proposed line of the plan to
the point of Ben Lomond Avenue and Foothill Boulei-ard, such
amended proposal to exclude all property south of Foothill
Boulevard. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Councilman McLees, seconded by Councilman Memmes-
heimer and unanimously carried that a letter be sent to the
City of Glendora stressing the stand of the City of Azusa
relative to this requested amendment to the proposed an-
nexation, requesting them to take immediate action there -on,
and to notify the City of Azusa of their willingness or
unwillingness to cooperate in this request. Such notific-
ations to be submitted to this City prior to the time of the
Azusa Council meeting of Monday, June 17, 1963.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Ortuno adjourned
the meeting.
