Notice was given that the Planning Commission, by F.eso]u- P.C.Res-334
tion No. 334, has recommended an amendment -cc: the Zoning "Motels"
Chapter of the Municipal Code to provide that "eKotels" Hrg.7;1/63
shall have no more than 30!% of their units equipped with
' cooking facilities; public hearin before Ccuncil to be
set for the meeting of July 1, 1993.
Notice was also given that the Flanning Commission, by P.C.Res.333
Resolution No. 333, has recommended an amendment to the parking req,
Zoning Chapter of the Municipal Code to provide that Hotels
Hotels shall have the same parking requirements as Motels;

Notice was given that the Planning Commission, by R.esolu- P.C�Res.332
tion No. 332 (V•73), has denied a Variance to Carl Rukasin (V-73)
which would have allowed a duplex development on an "R -lc" C,Rukasin
zoned lot at 928 North Sunset Avenue, .(denied)
Notice was also given that the Planning Commission, by P.C,Res.331
Resolution No. 331 (V-72), has granted a Variance to the (V-72)
Edsal Corporation providing for a reduction in the required Edsal Corp,
side and rear yard setbacks on property on the south side of Hrg. 7/1/63
Alosta Avenue, between Ben Lomcnd and Citrus Avenues. The
Edsal Corporation has presented an appeal to this Variance,
because of Section 3 of the Resolution relative to dedica-
tion of property shown as part of Calera Avenue; public
hearing before Council to be set for July 1, 19630
Mr. Salvatore P. Oslo, president of Edsal, Inc., 124 South
Lasky Drive, Beverly Hills, appeared before Council and
stated that the reason for the appeal was not made because
their company was displeased with the granting of the
Variance, but rather because the conditions of the dedica-
tion for Calera Avenue were not as Council had originally
indicated, and requested Council's approval or disapproval
of the deviation in the manner of dedication.:
Mr. Oslo further stated that Mr. Soelberg stated he would
be willing to dedicate his part of Calera Avenue if arrange-
ments can be made for improvements to be done other than by
him. Mr. Oslo stated that his firm wrul�a be willing to
Install the curb and gutters on both sides of the street if
the City would do the paving of the street itself.
The Acting City Engineer stated that the coat of paving and
grading would be approximately $3100,
Dedication of that portion of Calera Avenue owned by Mr.
Soelberg would not be required until such time as develop-
ment was begun.

Administrator authorized to obtain an appraisal for condemna-

M The City Administrator stated that the fire truck,
authorized for purchase by Council action at the regular
m meeting of August 20, 1962, was delivered to our Fire
m Department on June 12th, having been fully tested and
accepted by the State Board of Fire Underwriters The
cost contract price is $32,646,78, plus Sales Tax of
$1305087, with the total price of $33,952.65. Since
funds are available for payment, in .fulls the City Admini-
strator recommended the appropriation of the required
amount to pay the contract An full rather than make
partial payment with 6% interest on the talance.

A communication was received from the Chief Administrative Agrmt.Health
Officer, County of Los Angeles, regarding renewal of Health Services -
Se.rvices Agreement between Los Angeles County and City of L,A.County
Azusa, stating the necessity to enter into the Agreement
and including four minor revisions.
Moved by Councilman McLees, seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carrixd that the Agreement be referred to
the City Attorney for approval, and, if approved by him.,
that: execution of the document be authorized,.
The proposed letter regarding suggested annexation b<ne!f.lts
was presented to Council for consideration and requesting
that authorization be given for the letter to be mailed to
residents in areas considered for annexation.
