Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman McLees to accept the Agreement with the amendment that the City furnish water at a price not in excess of six.petcent. (6%) above the actual cost of producing and delivering such water. Council was advised that Mr. Zmrzel has since returned to work and the requested payment would be for a period of seven days. R.Zmrzel A tequest was received from the Superintendent of Public Clean -Up Works and the Fire Chief for authorization to conduct the Campaign annual Clean -Up campaign and appointment by Council of a 5/9-5/18 committee for the Clean -Up Week campaign with power to act, with suggcsted dates May 9th to May 18th. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Cooney and unanimously carried that recommendation of Mayor be accepted appointing the Council Chairman of the Public Works Department, the Council Chairman of the Fixe and Police Departments, City Administrator, Superintendent of Public Works, Police Chief and Fire,Chief ae a committee to work out the details of'the project. A communication was received from the City Engineer Notice of recommending the acceptance of street improvements in Completion Cerritos Avenue from Arrow Highway to Gladstone Street Cerritos and authorization to execute and file Notice of Completion. Ave. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Cooney and unanimously carried that the recommendation of the City Engineer be accepted, and that the Notice of Completion be signed and recorded. A communication was received from the City Engineer Sewer Const regarding the construction of the offsite sewer in Tract Alosta & 27346, at Alosta and Rockvale Avenue and recommending the Rockvale Av execution of an Agreement for the City's contribution of $7,577.64, and authorization for transfer, of required amount from the Light Fund to the Sewer Revolving Fund. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by,Councilman Cooney and unanimously carried that the transfer of funds be authorized as requested and the Agreement be executed by the Mayor and City Clerk. - c o I 1 1 CITY HALL AZUSA, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, MARCH 2, 1964 A report -was received from the City Engineer with reference to a request from the County Engineer to connect to City .sewers a 75 -acre County area bounded by Cerritos Avenue, Gladstone'Street,.Citrus Avenue and Fondale Avenue. The report stated that if the area were to be annexed that permission to connect to the sewer be denied until annexation is completed, or, as an alternative, that permission to connect be granted with a charge equal to the area require- ment for Sewer Reimbursement District No. 2. Following discussion, it was Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer and unanimously carried that the application for permission to connect to the City sewer line be denied until such time as the area is annexed to the City. wil Req.to Connect County Sewer to City Line Council discussed the property belonging to Mr. Tom Oki Re:Sewer relative to tying into the City sewer line, which_property Connection is a portion of proposed Annexation District No. 60. T.Oki No action was taken by Council on the above item. Presentation was made of a Resolution authorizingrthe execution Freeway of a freeway agreement designated "VII-LA-9-Azu, between the Agrmt. & Irwindale -Azusa City Limits and the Azusa City Limit at' Letter Galanto Avenue and acceptance by the City of_the.freeway agreement, for the closing or relocation of such streets, for carrying of such City streets over or under or to connect with the freeway, and .for the construction of such frontage and other local.roads. A communication was also received from A. W. Hoy, District Engineer, of the State Division of Highways, clarifying certain features not covered in detail by the Agreement. The question was raised as to what the policy of the State is regarding the disposition of the balance of property where only a portion is taken for freeway purposes. Mr'. Wade, of the State Highway Department, appeared before Council and stated that he would check on this and advise Council. Mr. Russell George, ;105 South Goodway Drive, and Mrs,- Nickerson, appeared before Council relative to transfer of ownrship of property which may or may not be affected by the freeway route. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Cooney and unanimously carried that the Mayor be authorized to sign and the City Clerk to attest the Freeway Agreement, subject to the terms of the letter from the Division of Highways, dated February 26, 1964, and signed by A.W. Hoy, District Engineer.. Councilman McLees offered the following Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, ' CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS A CERTAIN FREEWAY AGREEMENT.
