After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded`
by Councilman Rubio and unanimously carried that the recom-
mendatign of the City Engineer be accepted and the.City enter
into a contract with Vido Samarzich Co. at $4,082.25, low'
bidder, for the''construction of the sewer lines as specified,'
and that the bid bonds be returned to the unsuccessful bidders.
Moved by Counoilman Jackson, -'seconded by Councilman McLees and
unanimously carried that funds be encumbered from the Sewer
Revolving Fund in order that an additional amount of $242.25
be available for this pro,ject.as recommended by the City
Engineer.
The Treasureris,Financial Statement for the month ending
Treas.Stmt.
May 31, 1964, was presented to Council, showing Total Bank
Balances as.of that -date $1,023.330.60.

that the recommendation -of the :•lanning Commission be accepted,
and that the properties that had already entered into escrow
be granted an exception to the "freeze" as long as the owners

of Highways, with a letter from the City Engineer stating
the proposed route indicated in the General Plan was the

position. He stated they entered into escrow today,on this
one and one-half million dollar project, but -they cannot act
on the agreement.with the school district until Council
gives them assurance there will be no change in its decision.

'Dr. Nelson C. Price, Assistant Superintendent of the Azusa
Unified School District, appeared before Council, and
stated they have refrained from entering into negotiations
with Rodeffer Industries, Inc., but as there will be double
sessions this coming school year because of the lack of
elementary schools, they now urge that there be minimum
delay in order for the school district to secure the
property for the school site..
Mr. Anthony M. Ortuno, 346•N. Azusa Avenue, appeared before
Council and inquired as to when Council received the report

After discussion, it was moved by Councilman' Cooney, seconded
by Mayor Memmesheimer and unanimously carried that the recom-
mendation of the Planning Director and Planning Department be
accepted and that the Council initiate annexation proceedings
on the proposed area, with hearings to be -held on zone changes;
and that all property owners thus involved be notified that
the Planning Commission is considering this annexation.
A communication was received from the City Engineer regarding Agmt. -
necessary actions required in conjunction with proposed Sewer Reim.

letter which would permit the City of Azusa to join with the -
City of Anaheim and other cities - in their presentation and
appearance before the Federal Power Commission, if such action
is deemed desirable.
The City Administrator presented a report regarding the request
by the Azusa Foursquare Church, 345 South Azusa Avenue, for
a "right of entry easement" through 75 ft. of City property,
for the purpose of construction of the parsonage, which had
been referred to the City Engineer and City Administrator for
study at the June lst meeting. Among the items considered
were a review of the policy of the governing body of the
t" International Church of the Foursquare Gospel;, accessability
M to the suggested building site; problems of drainage; lia-
bility for property damage or injury as a result of crossing
p� City -owned property; and need for accessability to the City

Following discussion, it was moved by Councilman Cooney,
