The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned session
for budget study at the above time and place.
Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order. Call to Orde:
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Jackson,
McLees, Memmesheimer
Also Present: City Administrator Foxworthy, Superin
tendent of Light & Water Smith, Deputy
City Clerk Roehrich
A discussion was held regarding the Synopsis of budget requests
and Capital Outlay requests, and it was agreed by Council that.
further discussion be held at the next budget session.
The plans of the proposed Light & Water Department building
were reviewed, and after discussion., it was

unanimously carried that the City -owned property on Alameda
and Santa Fe Avenues be designated as the site for the future
Light & Water Department.building, to be one-story in height
.and approximately 7500 sq, ft. in area.
After discussion regarding the type of architecture for the
proposed Light 8e Water building, it was

unanimously carried that the architecture be,the same type as
the present Azusa Public Library.

Regarding the recommendation of the Personnel Board re: in- Re: Range

unanimously carried that this item be lifted from the table.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman McLees that
the recommendation of the Personnel Board be accepted, and that
all regular classified full-time employees,be given a 5% salary
increase, effective July�19T4.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman McLees and
unanimously carried that the meeting be adjourned to Wednesday,
June 24, 1964, at 7:00 P.M. in,tne Library Auditorium.

Moved by Councilman Cooney; seconded by Councilman Rubio and
unanimously carried that this item be raised from the; table.
Moved by Councilman. Jackson,,seconded by Councilman Cooney and
unanimously carried that Mr. John D. Granados be,.appointed to
the Personnel Board to fill the vacancy created by the'resigna-
tion of Mr. Stephen A. Paul, for the remainder of the term expir-
ing June 30, 1965,; and that Mr. Sid F. Mulligan be appointed to
the PersonnelBoard for a three-year term expiring June 30,
1967, to fill the vacancy -created by :the resignation of Mr.
Glenn H. Bashore,
The Mayor submitted a letter received from Assemblyman Bob "Let
Freedom
Monagan, requesting participation by the churches in Azusa
Ring" to be

in the "Let Freedom Ring" observance, by the ringing of all
observed on
bells or chimes on July 4th at 11:00 A.M.

churches in Azusa, urging,their dooperation.in this bell -
ringing program on July.4th, and enclosing a copy in each
