The City Council of the City•of Azusa met.in regular session at the above time and place.: Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order..and Call to led in the salute; to the flag., --,'`Order Invocation was given by Reverend Wallace Carlson of the Invocation Village Covenant Church. The Public Hearings set for.7:30 p.m. were requested.to Q4/64 be delayed until the arrival of the City Attorney. A recommendation was received.from Superintendent of. Bids on Public Works to award the bid for the furnishing of Asphaltic asphalt materials to the -low -bidder, Associated Asphalt,,,,, Material action having been postponed from the last 'regular . meeting. Moved by Councilman.McLees., seconded by Councilman' Cooney and unanimously carried that the recommendation of the Superintendent.of Public Works be accepted that the bid for asphaltic materials be awarded,to Associated Asphalt, Azusa,,and the bid bonds be returned•to-the unsuccessful bidders. A letter of resignation was received from John V. Relock, the Mayor.declared the hearing opened.'The City Clerk presented the Affidavit of Proof'of Publication of the Notice of this Public Hearing$ and stated that no written communications were received . Following discussion as to possible changes in zoning and variances granted, it was Moved by Councilman Jackson, seconded by Councilman Rubio to re- quest that'the,'City Attorney prepare a resolution of in_ tent to re-zone that certain-,property known as the Rodeffer: property that has been zoned R-3a or R-3b, for the pur= pose of considering a lesser.density zone classification. The City Engineer. -presented a communication pertaining.to the dedication of the east half of Calera Street by the Los Angeles County Road Department, and submitted'a recommendation for the opening of the street. Moved by Councilman Cooney;'seconded by Councilman' McLees and unanimously carried that the recommendation-:" of the City`.Engineer be -accepted., authorizing the City Engineer to notify the County Road Department by letter that the City"wiil repair the pavement and remove the., barricade, after the roadway easement is recorded, and authorizing the Public Works Department to -perform the necessary work., .
