Pedr• a r., Superintendent of Public Works VIA: Rick Cole,City Manager DATE: February 22,2000 SUBJECT: Approve Used Oil Collection Agreement with Reim Commercial Properties for March 11,2000 Event Recommended Action Approve and authorize the Mayor to execute agreement with Reim Commercial Properties to hold a Used Oil Collection Event at the Edgewood Shopping Center. Background As part of the Stn Cycle Used Oil Block Grant,Azusa's approved program allowed for four(4) Used Oil Collection Events throughout the City at different locations. This segment of the program is targeting the south portion of the City with a three (3)hour program from 9:00 am to 12 noon on March 11, 2000. The event will be held in front of the Pep Boys Store, which is a Certified Collection Center(C.C.C.). The City has retained Lighting Oil to be the hauler of all used oil, oil filters and batteries. Lighting is fully certified, licenced, and insured to collect and transport this classification of material. Reim Commercial Properties has agreed to allow the City to hold this event on their property, but only with a Revocable License and Release Agreement, executed by the City. Legal staff reviewed the first draft agreement with recommended revisions. Since, Reim Commercial Properties has complied with the requests and submits to the City the agreement before you for execution. Upon approval, staff will immediately commence with advertising in local newspapers, Cable TV and C.C.C's, public counters as well as flyers to both NIZ associations. Fiscal Impact Funding is programed within the 99-00 Environmental Budget. Howard Survivor's Trust under Trust Agreement dated October 4, 1990, Licensor and City of Azusa, Department of Public Works, Licensee Collection of Used Oil Edgewood Shopping Center Dear Louie: Enclosed are three copies of first three pages of the revised Revocable License and Release Agreement for the collection of"used oil" by the City of Azusa on March 11, 2000 from 9 A.M. until 12 P.M. These Agreements reflect the changes you requested. Please substitute the first three pages with the new pages, and have all three copies signed, initial the bottom of each page, and return all three copies to us for the Owner's signature.
