SUBJECT: INCREASE BLANKET PURCHASE ORDER FOR COOPERATIVE PERSONNEL SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve an increase of$5,000 to the blanket purchase
order for Cooperative Personnel Services (CPS) for a new, not to exceed amount of $7,000.
BACKGROUND
The blanket purchase order for Cooperative Personnel Services was established at$2,000 for the
2001-02 fiscal year. The blanket purchase order amount was established based upon previous
years'activity. Cooperative Personnel Services(CPS) provides comprehensive,accurate,reliable
and validated test products for predicting candidate performance and success. As the City of
Azusa strives for excellence and the "most qualified candidates" to fill positions, the need for
validated and quality testing has drastically risen.
Testing products and resource services provided by CPS enhance the Human Resources
Department ability to assist citywide departments in excellent recruitment efforts in a most cost
effective and efficient manner. CPS also provides other support services and free consulting
services for client agencies.
FISCAL IMPACT
This action increases the existing blanket purchase order by $5,000 for a total of $7,000.
Funding for this increase will be taken from the approved Human Resources Department
operating budget for the 2001-02 fiscal year.
