CONSENT CALENDAR
TO: THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FROM: JOE JACOBS, ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF RECREATION
VIA: RICK COLE, CITY MANAGER
DATE: MAY 6, 2002
SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO CIP TO AUGMENT FUNDING FOR MEMORIAL PARK RESTROOM
PROJECT
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council amend the 2002 Capital Improvements Project (CIP) budget
for the Memorial Park Restroom project by recognizing $120,000 in CDBG- NIZ II funding and
approving an additional $10,000 from Quimby Funds pay for needed architectural services.
BACKGROUND:
When City Council approved the current CIP,only$100,000 in Proposition 12 funds (reimbursable
grant) were recognized. The project had received prior year funding from the CDBG program in
the amount of $120,000 but was not included in the current CIP. This amendment recognizes
the available CDBG funding and recognizes an additional $10,000 from Quimby funds needed to
retain architectural services to move the forward project. Architectural services cannot be
charged to Proposition 12 or CDBG funds due to funding restrictions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The project budget upon approval will be funded as follows:
120,000.00 CDBG - NIZ II funding
100,000.00 Prop 12 funding
9,800.00 Quimby funds (architectural services)
229,800.00
