The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned session for budget study at the above time and place. Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to -order. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Solem, McLees, Memmesheimer Also Present: City Administrator Foxworthy, Police Chief Kendrick, Fire Chief Madison, City Clerk Miller The budget requests of the following Departments and Non - Departmental Accounts were reviewed by Council: Police (Account #5210) Animal Regulation (Account #5240) Fire (Account #5220 City Council (Account #5010) City Administrator (Account #5020) City Clerk (Account #5030) City Attorney (Account #5060) Debt Retirement (Account #5120) Dues & Memberships (Account #5137) Switchboard (Account #5141) Call to Order Roll Call Budget Reqs. reviewed Re: Object Account #225 under Police Department, the City Police Dept. Administrator recommended that the requested amount be re- duced $2,000, due to purchase of new Police cars. c t. 225 'Moved by Councilman.McLees, ::seconded by Councilman Rubio and unanimously carried that Object Account #225, under Account #5210, be reduced to $12,000. After discussion re: Object Acct. #245, it was moved by Obj,Acct. Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubio and unani- #245 mously carried that car allowance for other than Department Heads, requests for attendance at Conferences, Capital Outlay and salary increases be considered before the finalizing of the budget. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded Obj.Acct. by Councilman Solem and unanimously carried that Ob'ect Acct. #255 #255 (Special Departmental Supplies) be reduced to 2,300. Discussion was held re: Object Acct. #440 under Police Dept. Ob' .Acct. The Police Chief stated that it was his desire that eventually #440 the use of motorcycles in the Department could be eliminated. The requests of the Fire Department were considered and no action taken. At 8:20 P.M., Councilman McLees asked to be excused from meeting. Re: City Attorney Account #5060, the City Administrator reported that City Attorney Williams requested that he be considered along with any salary increase granted other City employees. Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Solem and unanimously carried that Account #5141 (Switchboard), Account #5137 (Dues & Memberships) and Account #5120 (Debt Retirement) budget requests be approved. Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubio and Adjourn unanimously carried that the meeting be adjourned to Wednesday, to 5/19 5/19/65, in the Library Board Room at 7:00 P.M.
