The City Council and Redevelopment Agency Board, having reviewed the Initial Study of this
proposed project and having reviewed the written comments received prior to the public
meeting of the City Council, including the recommendation of the City's Staff, does hereby find
and declare that the proposed project will not have a significant effect on the environment. A
brief statement of the reasons supporting the City Council's findings are as follows: The project
involves the new construction of a mixed-use commercial and residential building containing
approximately 7,787 square feet of gross building area. The new building will be constructed in
a manner that fits within the historic architectural context of the neighboring buildings and
downtown district. The proposed uses of the building will contribute in appositive manner to
the ongoing revitalization effort in the Downtown Azusa District. The net new building floor
area of 4,531square feet and the total building floor area of 7, 787 square feet will not have a
significant negative impact on the environment; this negative declaration is prepared consistent
with that finding
The City Council and Redevelopment Agency Board hereby finds that the Negative Declaration
reflects its independent judgment. A copy of the Initial Study may be obtained at:
