SUBJECT: RESOLUTION INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS FOR THE CITY
OF AZUSA LANDSCAPE AND LIGHTING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 (COMMUNITY
MAINTENANCE FEE)
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council waive further reading and adopt:
< A Resolution Initiating Proceedings for the Annual Assessments for the City of Azusa
Landscaping and Lighting Assessment District No. 1 (Community Maintenance Fee), for the
Fiscal Year 2003-2004, Ordering the Preparation and Filing of an Engineer’s Report in
Accordance therewith, and scheduling a Public Hearing on May 5, 2003.
BACKGROUND
The City originally established the subject District in 1989. State Law requires that this assessment be re-
adopted annually, utilizing a prescribed procedure, including the conduct of a public hearing. The
adoption of this Resolution of Intention to Initiate Proceedings is merely the first step in the process, and
does not by itself re-adopt the fees.
FISCAL IMPACT
The annual assessments generate about $140,370 in revenues each year.
