HomeMy WebLinkAboutG- 5 Staff Report Agreement between Los Angeles County and City of Azusa Dial a Ride CONSENT CALENDAR TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: PETE MACKAY, TRANSPORTATION MANAGER VIA: RICK COLE, CITY MANAGER DATE: APRIL 21, 2003 SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND THE CITY OF AZUSA FOR CONTINUING PROVISION OF TRANSIT SERVICES (DIAL-A-RIDE) TO ELIGIBLE ELDERLY AND DISABLED RESIDENTS OF THE UNINCORPORATED COUNTY AREAS OF AZUSA AND GLENDORA RECOMMENDATION It is recommended City Council approve an amendment to the agreement between Los Angeles County and the City of Azusa allowing the City to continue transit service to eligible elderly and persons with disabilities who reside in the unincorporated County areas of Azusa and Glendora as clarified in appendix A of said agreement and authorize the Mayor, City Attorney and City Clerk to sign the agreement. BACKGROUND On September 27, 1994 the City and County entered into an agreement to have the City’s Dial-a-Ride system provide services to eligible elderly and disabled persons in the unincorporated County areas of Azusa and Glendora. This same basic agreement has been renewed every two years for continued service to the subject residents. The renewal of this agreement would extend these services through June 30, 2005. FISCAL IMPACT All costs associated with this program are recouped through fares received by customers and reimbursements from Los Angeles County. There is no impact on the General Fund. PM:jmh
