HomeMy WebLinkAboutI-6 Staff Report - Notice of Completion for Electric SubstructuresCONSENT CALENDAR TO: HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE AZUSA UTILITY BOARD FROM: MANNY ROBLEDO, DIRECTOR OF UTILITIES DATE: OCTOBER 19, 2020 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR FURNISHING AND INSTALLING OF UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC SUBSTRUCTURES ON AEROJET AVENUE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLAN AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PROJECT LD2020-2 BACKGROUND: On July 20, 2020, the Azusa Utility Board approved a contract with TSR Construction & Inspection to furnish and install underground substructures in accordance with specifications for Project LD2020-2. Staff has duly inspected the construction of this project, and determined that it has been completed within the specified timeframe and within budgeted cost. Staff seeks the Utility Board’s acceptance of Notice of Completion for Project LD2020-2 and authorizing the recording thereof in the Office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Utility Board take the following action: 1)Find that TSR Construction & Inspection has completed the Aerojet conduit extension with plans and specifications for Project LD2020-2; and 2)Approve the Notice of Completion and authorize the Mayor to execute the Notice of Completion on behalf of the City; and 3)Authorize the City Clerk to submit the Notice of Completion for recordation to the Office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, within ten days of the Utility Board approval, as required by Section 3093 of the California Civil Code. ANALYSIS: On July 20, 2020, the Azusa Utility Board awarded a contract to TSR Construction & I-6 APPROVED UTILITY BOARD 10/19/2020 Special Meeting Approve Notice of Completion for LD2020-2 October 19, 2020 Page 2 Inspection to extend the electrical conduit at Aerojet for Project LD2020-2 in the amount of $34,320. Not long after the Purchase Order (PO) No. 034218 was issued, Staff authorized TSR to start the construction of this project. On September 28, 2020, TSR started the construction of the Project and completed it on October 2, 2020. Staff has duly performed the inspection of this project, and determined that it has completed in accordance with plan ED2020-2 in specified time and within budgeted cost amount.
