The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order and led Call to Order
in the salute to the -flag.
Invocation was given by Rev. B. J. Paroulek of the First Invocation
Presbyterian Church.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Solem, Roll Call
McLees, Memmesheimer
Also Present: City Attorney Williams, City Administrator
Foxworthy, Assistant City Engineer Lindsey,
Superintendent of Light & Water Smith, City
Clerk Miller.
The Minutes of the regular meeting of 8-16-65 were
approved as submitted.
The City Clerk announced that bids were opened in his
ej+ office at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 9-3-65, on the con-
struction of miscellaneous off-site and on-site
improvements for the Light & Water building (Project
A #419).
Present at bid opening: City Administrator Foxworthy,
Assistant City Engineer Lindsey, City Clerk Miller.
The City Clerk presented the affidavit of proof of
publication of the Notice Inviting Bids, published on
August 11 - 18, 1965, in the Azusa Herald & Pomotropic.
Three (3) bids were received, as follows:

A recommendation was received from the Acting City Engineer
that the contract be awarded to Kirkland Paving Co. of
Glendora, low bidder.
Moved by Councilman McLees, seconded by Councilman Solem
and unanimously carried that the recommendation of the
Acting City Engineer be accepted to award the contract
to Kirkland Paving Co., low bidder ($6,933.13), and bid
bonds be returned to the unsuccessful bidders.
The City Clerk again announced that bids were opened in
his office at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 9-3-65, on labor
and material for installing carpeting in the new Light
and Water Building. Present at bid opening were: City
Administrator Foxworthy, Assistant. City Engineer
' Lindsey, City Clerk Miller.
The City Clerk presented the affidavit of proof of

A recommendation was received from the City Administrator
that the low bid of K. & M. Floors, Inc., be accepted and
a contract be executed.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman McLees
and unanimously carried by roll call that the contract be
awarded to K. & M. Floors, Inc., low bidder ($5,240), as
recommended and all bid bonds and/or checks be returned to
the unsuccessful bidders.

Solem and unanimously carried that the Building Permit
be granted upon satisfactory proof that escrow has
been opened, providing escrow instructions show that
all parties were in agreement in all particulars, as
this is a hardship case.
The City Clerk presented a communication from Roger Communication
C. Campbell, Attorney at Law, re: the Gerald Mack re: Gerald Mack
property at the intersection of Donnabeth and Newburgh property
streets, in which he accepts the terms and conditions
set forth by the City, for his client Gerald Mack.

consensus of opinion that it would be preferable to
