HomeMy WebLinkAboutE-7 Staff Report - Crisis Collection Grant Acceptance 20-21CONSENT ITEM E-7 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL VIA: SERGIO GONZALEZ, CITY MANAGER FROM: ANN GRAF, DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND LIBRARY SERVICES DATE: NOVEMBER 2, 2020 SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF “CRISIS COLLECTION” GRANT FROM THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LIBRARY COOPERATIVE BACKGROUND: The Azusa City Library has been awarded a grant in the amount of $5,000 from the Southern California Library Cooperative (SCLC). This action accepts this grant award and approves a corresponding budget amendment to incorporate the grant funds into the current fiscal year budget. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions: 1)Accept the Crisis Collection Grant award from the SCLC; and 2)Approve necessary budget amendments and adjust the current fiscal year budget accordingly. ANALYSIS: The Library is the recipient of a Crisis Collection Grant. This grant will provide funding for E-Resources to address the increased demand from the community for on-line resources as people practice physical distancing and library buildings are closed. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions; this grant will support E-Resources. Upon Council acceptance of the grant, Finance staff will amend the FY20-21 budget consistent with the grant award amount.
