The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place
Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order and
led in the salute to the flag.
t Invocation was given by City Administrator, Foxworthy
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen Rubio, Cooney, Solem,
McLees, Memmesheimer
Also Present: City Attorney Williams, City Administrator
Foxworthy, Superintendent of Light & Water
Smith, City Clerk Miller
The Minutes of the meeting of October 4, 1965 were
approved as submitted.
The City Clerk announced that no bids were received
r for the abatement of hazards and nuisances on various
CC lots.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried to accept the verbal recommenda-
tion of the City Administrator that the Superintendent
of.Public Works resurvey areas, and City Forces clear
parcels which approximate $200 in cost; but negotiate
individually for those where cost may exceed $200.
The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for a public
hearing on the Weed Abatement Program (625 E. 10th Street)
the Mayor declared the hearing open. No newspaper pzb-
lication of a legal notice being required for this hear-
ing, the City Clerk presented an affidavit, signed by
the Superintendent of Public Works which stated that
as of October 5, 1965 all lots listed in Resolution
4911 were posted in the prescribed manner.
There being no written communications received and no
one in the audience wishing to be heard in regard to
this matter it was

and unanimously carried that the hearing be closed.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried that the Superintendent of Public
Works be instructed to proceed under the Weed Abatement
Act.

Notice was recieved from Alcoholic Beverage Control
of original application for the Veteran's Club license
by American Legion Canyon City Post #180 (previous
request for On -Sale Beer License withdrawn) at 819 N.
Loren Avenue.

Mc Lees and unanimously carried that the notice be filed.
A proposed Resolution was presented, stating that the
City of Azusa Water Department shall serve water to
Irwindale Raceway, and certain areas within the City
of Irwindale subject to the provisions of the letter
of agreement from Irwindale Raceway dated October 7,
1965.
Councilman Solem offered the Resolution entitled:

The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for a con-

Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried that the hearing be continued to
11/1/65 and that Mr. Mack be notified by letter, with a
copy sent to his Attorney, that all conditions should be
met by 11/1/65 or the City will abandon the project.

Notice was given that the Planning Commission, by P.C.Res.#561
Resolution No. 561, denied a Conditional Use Permit to denying CUP
' establish an auto -wrecking yard at 1125 W. Gladstone (Case C-54
Street (Appeal received - hearing before Council to be H.Vallentine)
set for 11/1/65).
Notice was given that the Planning Commission, by Resolu-
tion No. 562 denied a Variance to permit an M-1 use in an
R-3 zone and also a request for exemption of off-street
parking requirements on property at 310 N. Alameda Avenue.
(Appeal received - hearing before Council to be set for
11/1/65).
Notice was also given that the Planning Commission, by
Resolution No. 563 amended Planning Commission Resolu-
tion approving Tentative Tract Map #24847. No action
taken by Council.
Notice was further given that the Planning Commission,
by Resolution No. 564 supports the City Beautification
Committee. No action taken by Council.
An Ordinance was presented for second reading and adopt-

The City Engineer submitted a request from the Los
Angeles County Flood Control District for an extension
of a permit which would allow them to enter the property
of the east leg of Northside Park, Due to labor problems,
they were unable to complete their work within the
