The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session
at the above time and place.
7:30 p.m.
Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order
salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Reverend B. J. Paroulek of First Invocation
Presbyterian Chruch.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Solem,

were approved as corrected.

unanimously carried to raise from the table.
Moved by Counc Cooney, seconded by Counc Rubio and
unanimously carried to authorize the execution of the
Agreement.
The City Clerk presented the Notice frau Alcoholic ABC Notice
Beverage Control for person-to-person transfer application 940 W. Foot -
for On -Sale Beer License from G. L. & T. 0. McGlynn to hill Blvd.
H. W. Gidley, Jr. (The Red Door- 940 W. Foothill Blvd.). (Red Door)
Moved by Counc Cooney, seconded by Counc McLees and
unanimously carried to receive and file.
The Accounting Director submitted a request that the NCR Repair of
bookkeeping machine be repaired. The cost to be $1,250. NCR machine
and includes a 2 year warranty.

carried to authorize repair of the NCR bookkeeping machine.

the NCR is being repaired.

Notice was further given that the Planning Commission by P.C.Res.#577
Resolution No. 577 recommended a zone change from R -lc to C-2 recomm. zone
on property at 302 E. First Street, and from R -3c to C-2 cling. (Case
on property at 250 E. First Street (Case Z-133 - P.C. Z-133 VFW)
initiated - VFW). No action taken by Council.
Notice was also given that the Planning Commission by
Resolution No. 578 recommended an amendment to the Municipal
Code re: "Auto Wrecking Yards" and Junk Yard Establishments"
under M-2 zone, by removing uses #4 & #33 from Sec. 9215.20
(a) and adding same to 9215.20(b). Council hearing set for
1/17/66.
An Ordinance was presented for second reading and adoption
amending Section 5210.7 of the Municipal Code re: rubbish
and /or garbage collection fees.

The City Administrator presented the monthly reports Monthly
from various City Departments for Council consideration. Reports

The City Administrator submitted for Council approval the
specifications for purchase of switchgear and fixtures
for sports lighting system at Memorial Park, and authoriza-
tion to advertise for bids.

unanimously carried to approve the specifications.
The resignation of Fire Capt. M. Chenard, was presented
t- for Council consideration, effective 12/31/65; and confirma-
�Z tion of the appointment of Fire Engr. J. Stewart to Fire
Captain, effective 12/31/65, to fill the vacancy.

A recommendation was received from the City Engineer for no
parking on both sides of Citrus Avenue, a distance of 270'
northerly from the centerline of Mauna Loa Avenue
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried to have the curbs painted red as
required.
A memo was received requesting authorization by the City
Engineer to serve as Chairman of the Committee of the East
San Gabriel Valley Planning Commission, studying proposed
Huntington Beach Freeway.
Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carried to approve the City Engineer as
Chairman of the ESGV Planning Commission.
It was the recommendation of the City Engineer to vacate a
portion of the south side of Gladstone Street, varying in
width from 5.15' on the west to 6.55' on the east, for
approximately 1901.

A proposed Resolution was presented withdrawing a certain
portion of the County Fire Protection District which has
been included in the City of Azusa (Easterly Annexation
District No. 64).
Councilman Rubio offered the Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
DESCRIBING A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE CONSOLIDATED COUNTY
FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT WHICH HAS BEEN INCLUDED WITHIN
THE CITY OF AZUSA AND DECLARING THE SAME WITHDRAWN FROM
