The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order and Call to Order
led in salute to the flag.
The Invocation was given by Rev. Paul E. Farrell of Invocation
First Christian Church

The time of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for the continued
public hearing on appeal from granting of a Variance by
P.C. Resolution No. 590, to permit construction of single-
family residence on non -conforming lot created by an
illegal lot split of 2 lots, known as 1038 N. Sunset Ave.
(Case V-149 - Sterling Savings & Loan Association).
Rev. Paroulek appeared before Council and remarked he
had made an offer to purchase, but he had been unable to
reach agreement on negotiations.
Moved by Councilman Mc Lees, seconded by Councilman Rubio
to continue this hearing until the meeting of 5/2/66.
The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for the public
hearing on appeal, by motion of the City Council, from
granting of a Variance by P.C. Resolution No. 592, to
permit reduction for front yard setback of 20' on Lot 9 ;
front yard setback of 17' on Lot 43; and 15' front yard
setbacks on Lots 2, 8, 10, 11, 27, 29, and 45, Tract

Louis Nowell regarding Urban Studies Association.

was received.

A claim was presented for damage to auto re: accident
on 3/29/66 at intersection of Alameda And Santa Fe

the City Clerk and City Attorney for a report back to
Council on 5/2/66.
The City Treasurer's Financial Statement for the month
of March was received.

and unanimously carried to receive and file.
A communication was received from Mr. Anthony M. Ortuno
re: turn -over of Police Department personnel, with
request for investigation of Police Department.
Mr. Ortuno requested that employees be investigated re:
conditions in Department.
Mayor Memmesheimer requested specific areas for investi-
gation.
Park and Recreation Commision requested a Resolution
on swimming admission rates for 1966, including a
family season plan.

Attorney prepare the necessary Resolution.
Personnel Board submitted their recommendation for Step

A request was submitted for a change in classification to
Equipment Operator for Mr. Luis Miranda, Street Crew

with $3,000 contributed by City and $1,000 deposit by
Keefer prior to construction.
