GEORGIA AVENUE, AZUSA, CA. 91702 BACKGROUND: The property owner at 735-739 N. Georgia Ave, Azusa, CA. 91702 is obtaining an underground 3-phase 277/480V electric service from Azusa Light and Water (“ALW”). Electric utility facilities such as vaults, conduits, and transformers installed on private property require egress and ingress for ongoing maintenance purposes. Property owner is granting the easement to the City of Azusa for the means of ingress and egress. Staff is seeking Utility Board approval to accept such grant of easement from property owner and to authorize City Clerk to file the grant of easement. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Utility Board take the following actions: 1)It is recommended that the Utility Board accept Grant of Easement by attached Resolution for the property at 735-739 N. Georgia Avenue in the City of Azusa; and 2) Authorize the City Clerk to file said easement documents with the Office of the Los Angeles County Recorder. E-7Approved Utility Board 1/25/21 Grant of Easement Acceptance -735-739 N. Georgia Ave January 25, 2021 Page 2 ANALYSIS: To serve a new electric utility at 735-739 N. Georgia Avenue, ALW will install a pad mount transformer, and underground cables within the premise of this property. The property owner is granting the City of Azusa the strips of land that encompass those electric facilities. This easement will provide the City the right to access to said facilities for maintaining purposes. Staff has reviewed the grant of easement document and its attached Exhibits A and B; and found they have depicted the correct locations of all electric utility facilities residing within the property of this development. Thus, staff feels comfortable recommending acceptance of this grant of easement. FISCAL IMPACT: All costs associated with the preparation and processing of this Grant of Permanent Easement are borne by the property owner. There is no cost to Azusa Light & Water for accepting this Grant of Permanent Easement. Prepared by: Reviewed and Approved: Abdul Qadeer, M.S., P.E.
