The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order and Call to Order
led in the salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Mr. Gilbert Allan of Azusa Invocation
Church of Christ.

1/16/67 were approved as written. Actions of
Bids were publicly opened and declared in the Office of 1/3 & 1/16/67
the City Clerk on February 2, 1967, for the installation
of a sprinkler system on the east leg of Northside Park.
It was the recommendation of the City Engineer that the Award Bid to
contract be awarded to the Pacific Coast Irrigation Pacific Coast
Company for their low bid of $6,200.00. Irrigation Co.

Moran -Howell, Inc., low bidder ($132,279) with contract
to be signed upon receipt of signed Agreement from State
Division of Highways, and to return bid securities to
unsuccessful bidders after contract has been signed.

The Chamber of Commerce submitted their quarterly report
to Council.

A request was received from the Azusa Police and Fire
Association to amend the SERS contract by adding
Sec. 21264 (Widows and Survivor Benefits for Safety
Members).

and unanimously carried to refer request to Finance
Committee, consisting of Councilman Cooney, Mayor Memme-
sheimer and City Administrator Foxworthy, with report

City Administrator wishing to attend contact the City
Clerk's Office so that reservations may be made.
A request was received^from the Parks and Recreation
Commission for approval of a policy for prohibiting -
use of golf equipment in City Parks.
Moved by Councilman Rubio, seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carried to instruct the Director of
Public Works and Recreation Director to have all City
Parks posted with properly worded signs, as requested.
The City Administrator suggested enforcing prohibition
of running of dogs in the parks in accordance with posted
signs.
Notice was received that the Planning Commission, by
Resolution No. 649 (Case V-183 - Edith A. Bowers),
granted a Variance to permit the installtion of adver-
tising signs exceeding the allowable sign area and sign
height in a C-2 zone,onroperty at 330 North Citrus

and unanimously carried that Council appeal granting of
this Variance. Hearing before Council on this appeal has
been set for 3/6/67.
Notice was further given that the Planning Commission by

a Variance to permit the construction of increased living

recommended.
Superintendent of Light and Water Smith, submitted his

and unanimously carried to grant leave -of -absence as

The City Administrator submitted a request for the
Planning Director to attend spring classes at USC
regarding Financial Relationships Connected with
Planning, with reimbursement of $200 tuition upon

and unanimously carried to authorize execution of new
agreement.
Notice was received of a complaint from area residents
regarding the condition of a lot opposite 903 E. Ghent
Street (Roller).
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Solem
and unanimously carried that the City Administrator be
authorized to contact Mrs. Ottaviano personally and
outline the City's position.
The City Administrator submitted a report of prices for
equipment requested by the Library for use in civic
activities.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried that the City Administrator be
authorized to issue a Purchase Order for purchase of
equipment as outlined and recommended.
City Attorney Williams expressed his appreciation to
Council for the plant sent to his home as token of
sympathy upon his father's death.
