The City Council 'of the City of Azusa met in adjourned
regular session at the above time and place.
Mayor Memmesheimer called the meeting to order.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Solem,
McLees, Memmesheimer

Light and Water Smith; Planning Director
Smith; N. F. Zichichi, Chairman of Personnel
Board; A. M. Ortuno, member of Personnel
Board; Mrs. J. Parks, Personnel Clerk; City
Clerk Miller
The consideration of bids for the purchase of one New
Heavy Duty Line Construction Truck, with Heavy Duty Derrick
and Heavy Duty Digger and Body, was presented, this item
being continued from the June 5, 1967, meeting. The City
Administrator submitted a communication from the Superin-
tendent of Light and Water recommending that the bid be
awarded to Pitman Manufacturing Co.

Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Rubio and
unanimously carried that low bid of Jumbo Equipment Co. be
disqualified by reason of insufficiency, and that the recommen-
dation of the Superintendent of Light and Water be accepted
to award bid to Pitman Manufacturing Co., second low bidder
at $40,003, and that bid securities be returned to unsuccess-
ful bidders after contract has been signed.
A Resolution was presented accepting a Grant of Easement
'for public utility purposes from Harry Snyder, on premises
308 South Azusa Avenue.
Councilman Cooney offered the following Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
ACCEPTING A CERTAIN GRANT OF EASEMENT AND DIRECTING THE
RECORDING THEREOF.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman McLees
and unanimously carried that further reading be waived.
Moved by Councilman McLees, seconded by Councilman Cooney
that the Resolution be adopted. Resolution passed and
adopted by the following vote of Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Rubio, Cooney, Solem, McLees, Memmesheimer
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: None and numbered Resolution 5236.

A communication was received from Acting Superintendent of Resig.of
Public Works Sandwick, recommending that the resignation L.R.Myers
of L. R. Myers, Equipment Operator, be accepted, effective Equip.Oper.
immediately.
'Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubio and
unanimously carried that the resignation of Mr. Myers be
accepted.
A further recommendation was submitted by the Acting
Superintendent of Public Works that William Michelli be
promoted to the position of Equipment Operator, from the
eligibility list.
Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carried that the appointment of Mr. Michelli
as Equipment Operator be accepted.

and unanimously carried that Object Account #225, under (Police)
Account #5210 (Police), be reduced $1,700, making a total Obj.Acct.225
of $14,000.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman McLees Obj.Acct.330
and unanimously carried that the amount of $100 be added re: adding $100
under Object Account #330 (Police), for future consideration, for future
re: hosting Women Peace Officers' Association session in consideration
Azusa on 9/23/67.

and unanimously carried that the request of the Police of skirts for
Chief, re: purchase of 111 regulation skirts for seven Police Clerks

Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carried that budget requests re: Account
#5210 (Police) be accepted, as amended, with the exception
of Object Accounts #330 and #440.
Moved by Councilman McLees, seconded by Councilman Rubio Acct. #5220
and unanimously carried that budget requests re: Account (Fire)
#5220 (Fire) be acceppted, with the exception of Object
Accounts #330 and #440.
Councilman McLees left the meeting at 8:30 p.m.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Rubion
and unanimously carried that the meeting be adjourned to
Friday, 6/9/67, at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium.
