A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA & extending
COMMEMORATING LOUIS G. MEMMESHEIMER FOR HIS YEARS OF sympathy to
DEVOTED CIVIC SERVICE TO THE CITY OF AZUSA AND TO ITS family.
CITIZENS.
WHEREAS, Louis G. Memmesheimer who passed away Wednesday,
July 26, 1967) did faithfully serve the City of Azusa as
'a Councilman and as its Mayor for a period of twenty-two
years, spanning the period 1944 to 1967; and
WHEREAS, throughout these many years he did give unstint-
ingly and unselfishly of his time, his talents, his energies,
and his abilities with the utmost of dedication towards the
betterment of his City; and

The City Council of the City of Azusa met in Special Session
at the above time and place.
Mayor Pro Tempore Cooney called the meeting to order at

Mayor Pro Tempore Cooney presented the Notice of Special
Notice of
Meeting which was called for the purpose of acting in
Spec. Mtg.
memoriam of Louis G. Memmesheimer, who passed away Wednesday
night, July 26, 1967.
A copy of the Notice of Special Meeting was delivered to
each of the following members of the City Council at the
date and time set forth after his name:

It was moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Rubic' Flags @
and unanimously carried that for the period of one week, from
Half -Staff
July 27, 1967, through August 3, 1967, official flags of the

City be flown at half-staff.
It was moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman
City offices
Rubio and unanimously carried that City offices, except.
Closed
emergency crews, shall be closed on Monday, July 31, 1967,
7/31/67
in memory of Mayor Louis G. Memmesheimer.

WHEREAS, his untimely passing has caused a great loss to
this community and to those persons with whom he was
intimately associated as a fellow legislator, as a con-
cerned citizen, and as a friend;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council does
herewith and hereby extend its most sincere and heartfelt
t sympathy to the widow and family of Louis G. Memmesheimer
whose passing deeply affects all those who knew and
served with him.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this Resolution and shall transmit a
certified copy thereof to the family of Louis G. Memmesheimer.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa
at a special meeting thereof held on the 27th day of July,
1967, by the following vote of the Council:

ABSENT: Councilmen: McLees

It was moved by Councilman Rubio, seconded by Councilman Solem
and unanimously carried that the Resolution be adopted.
Resolution was then passed and adopted by the above listed
vote of Council and numbered Resolution 5274.

It was moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Louis G.
Rubio and unanimously carried that the new proposed Police Memmesheimer
facility building be known as the Louis G. Memmesheimer Memorial
Memorial Police Building. IPolice Bldg.
It was moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman
Rubio and unanimously carried that the City Clerk be
directed to order a funeral floral piece in the name of
the members of the City Council and residents of the
City of Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried that this special meeting be
adjourned in memory of Louis G. Memmesheimer.
