Mayor Cooney called the meeting to order and led in salute to the flag. Invocation was given by the Reverend Raymond C. Peters of Azusa Foursquare Church. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen Rubio, Calvert, Solem, Mc Lees, Cooney 7:30 p.m. Call to Order Invocation Roll Call Also Present: City Attorney Williams, City Administrator Introd. of Dept. Consideration of bids for the completion and erection of a Recreation Building in Gladstone Park (Project #461). Moved by Councilman Mc Lees, seconded by Councilman Solem and unanimously carried that alternate bid of Robert J. Hassett be accepted for $14,322, and that bid securities be returned to unsuccessful bidders after contract has been signed. The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for public hearing on Appeal from denial of a variance by Planning Commission Resolution #681, to allow reduced floor area ' for 30 apartment units, reduced parking and to exceed minumum lot area requiement, on property at 385 Rockvale Avenue (Case V-205 - Leumi Financial Corp.). (Council suggested that more information be secured from other cities, such as Riverside, who have been using EDP, and also check proposed contracts for "escape" clause, as Council wishes to know the real advantages to the City from using EDP.)
